Phil & Simon have a deep knowledge of and longstanding networks across the global Hydrogen industry. Their interest in Hydrogen began in the 1990s when Simon was a corporate financier in the City of London with investment bank Beeson Gregory and Phil was UBS Warburg’s lead Hydrogen analyst based in Frankfurt.
In 2002, having been introduced by Dr David Hart (Imperial College and E4Tech) Phil & Simon founded Core Technology Ventures with colleagues, in order to provide rigorous, independent, fact-based advice to its clients:- electrolyser & fuel cell developers, financiers and government agencies.
Whilst they are passionately supportive of this emerging industry, they are relentless in demanding the highest standards from an industry that they regard as notorious in over-promise and under-delivery. Their style is investigative and relies heavily on their experience and networks.
CoreTech has completed multiple Hydrogen industry advisory contracts for governments and State Owned Enterprises worldwide, most recently in North Africa under the trademark CoreTech RHS (Renewable Hydrogen Solutions) with colleagues Tim Morris and Mohammed Raihani.
In Europe, CoreTech has provided hydrogen advisory services to the European Investment Bank, the European Commission and, the UK’s Carbon Trust, Technology Strategy Board and the Science & Technology Facilities Council.
